Love Lenny Lobster
My husband used the stencil on our courtyard wall of our cottage in Wales. Also used the dolphin stencil as we can see dolphins locally. He knew what he was doing and they both look fabulous. Great purchase.
Sea life Stencils
Pretty good with the lobster stencil. Somewhat patchy with the tropical fish stencils (2 stencils each with 3 fish - same fish but second stencil having slightly larger versions). I had trouble with paint running under the stencil cutouts, despite using rollers (ie Dulux emulsion testers), shaped sponge pads, and worst of all, small paint brushes. I accept that I’m pretty clumsy and painstaking is not my middle name! Anyway, touching in with a very fine brush seems to be the answer to runs. I am absolutely NOT put off, however, not least because your stuff appears to be pretty unique judging from my searches. I’m actually more annoyed at the limited amount of suitable colours I have been able to find (in emulsion- since I am doing a downstairs loo wall mural to display some metalwork fish and sea life art I have recently acquired, to which I am adding your stencil fish depictions. Hope that’s not too complicated! It would be most helpful if you knew of any suitable paints suppliers who could sell me the type of colours worn by tropical fish. Oh, and maybe you have a stencil of a sunken galleon!?
The Stencil Studio
Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback and post a picture of your artwork. Unfortunately the biggest cause of seeping/paint runs is watery paint or simply too much paint. Have you looked at artists acrylic paints, these are water based, available in a great range of colours and can be mixed to create any colour you need. Less is more with stencilling and thicker/denser paints work better. It is important also to start with a dry brush/sponge, take a very tiny amount of paint and to dabb excess paint off before applying to the stencil. I hope that helps with your future projects. We hope you will shop with us again (please don't forget to use your returning customer discount code ;)
